A Note to My Younger Self: Trust Yourself and Take the Risk

Real safety isn’t in playing small or settling for ‘good enough.’ It’s in trusting yourself to take the risk and handle whatever comes next.
— Ashley Molitor

"Just play it safe."

A lot of us grew up with that message, even if it wasn't spoken.

We watched our parents do it. They worked hard, paid the bills, put food on the table, & kept a roof over our heads. Safety meant stability—& that stability meant survival.

  • Stick with the job-it keeps you secure, even if it drains you.

  • Stay in the marriage-even if it's breaking you, it's easier than starting over.

  • Keep the peace-it's 'safer' than speaking your truth & shaking $hit up.

  • Don't rock the boat-even if you're sinking on the inside.

These lessons weren't just passed down-they're wired into us.

Our brains are literally programmed to avoid risk. Back in caveman days, survival depended on staying with the group, avoiding danger, & playing by the rules.

No wonder so many of us feel stuck in patterns of "just get by."

But here's the thing-those old survival strategies? They're not serving you anymore. They're holding you back.

Playing it safe might feel comfortable, but it's not the same as thriving. It keeps you small. It stops you from growing and discovering what's possible.

What if safety isn't about staying stuck in 'good enough'?

What if real safety comes from trusting yourself to handle whatever happens when you dare to color outside the lines?

  • You don't have to stay in the job that's suffocating you.

  • You don't have to keep saying yes when you mean no.

  • You don't have to keep sacrificing yourself for the sake of "keeping things together."

The woman you want to become?

She's not in the job that's 'safe!
She's not in the relationship that keeps you shrinking.
She's not constantly saying yes when she wants to say no.

But she is inside you-waiting for you to take the risk & trust in your own power to handle whatever comes next.

Xoxo,
Ash

Taking Back Control: What Fuels My Passion to Help Women Thrive

Today, I found myself reflecting on why I do what I do—and I wanted to share what fuels my passion for helping women like you.

I help women take back control of their lives—whether it’s around food, body image, relationships, or breaking free from the constant pressure to do it all.

As a woman and mom, I get it:
👉🏼 The pressure to be everything to everyone and still keep it all together.
👉🏼 How easy it is to lose yourself in the roles of mom, partner, friend, or employee.
👉🏼 The stories we’ve been told about who we should be—and how those stories can hold us back.

But here’s the truth I’ve come to believe (and what I aim to help every woman realize):

✨ You’re already an amazing, worthy human being—just as you are right now. No changes required.

✨ If you’ve ever felt stuck or like life is just happening to you, you have the power to rewrite those stories and live on your own terms.

✨ Goals are great, but they should come from a place of your values—not from trying to please others or fit into someone else’s version of success.

✨ Life isn’t about perfection; it’s about finding what feels good for YOU and learning to trust yourself again.

✨ There is no “better than here.” Wherever you’re headed, the same thoughts and emotions will come with you. That’s why doing the inner work matters as much as any outer change.

If this resonates with you, know that you’re not alone. These are the lessons I’ve had to learn in my own life, and they’ve transformed how I show up in the world. It’s also why I’m so passionate about helping other women unlearn the stories that hold them back and take their power back.

Transformation Isn’t About Adding More—It’s About Letting Go

Every time you say yes when you mean no, you lose a little bit of yourself.
— Me (Ashley, that is)

Sometimes the real transformation comes from letting go of all the BS weighing you down—not adding more to your plate. Let that sink in.

Everything that led me to the woman I am today—the woman I am still becoming—has been all about unlearning the bullshit beliefs handed to me. I didn’t create some new version of myself. She was always there, waiting.

Here are just a few things I had to unlearn (yep, some are still a work in progress):

  • Rules of diet culture.

  • Constant stories of “not enough” that were drilled into me.

  • The definition of success passed down from family, society, school, and social media.

  • Seeking external approval to feel worthy.

  • That taking time for me is "selfish."

  • Pleasing everyone else at the expense of my own happiness.

  • Saying YES just to be agreeable. (Every time you say yes when you mean no, you lose a little bit of yourself.)

  • Holding in the feels because we weren’t taught any other way.

Unlearning these things didn’t happen overnight, and some days, it’s still a battle. But each step has been worth it because it brought me closer to me.

It wasn’t about adding more or changing who I was. It’s been about peeling back the layers of crap that were piled on top of who I’ve always been.

If you’re done feeling stuck in the stories that no longer serve you, let’s change that together. Whether it’s 4 months or 6, we’ll create a roadmap to help you let go of the crap and step into the badass version of yourself who’s been waiting all along. Let’s chat about what’s next—click here to start.

The Art of Unlearning to Find Your Authentic Self

Sometimes the real transformation is in letting go, not in doing more.
— Me (Ashley...incase you didn't know who Me was)

2 : to undo the effect of : discard the habit of
